The worst thing is the unbearable loooong loading time, when there`s nothing to load. When I exit something, I have to look at the bloody GT icon for sometimes as much as 3 minutes. It`s a catastophe. It could be my ps3 is at fault, but it seems I`m not the only one having this problem. It makes me turn off the system simply because I´m so annoyed looking at the black screen with the silver Gt logo on it. Makes me jump and shout in rage. And yes the menu is sooo stupid. Wish there had been a EUROPEAN superviser involved, looking at the whole thing with common, critical "user eyes" I think the Japanese thinks that we find it amusing sitting for minutes and minutes looking at their logo. WE DON`T. We know the name and logo, we want to go on with racing or whatever we are about to do.

the menus in this game were quite obviously designed by somebody with a degree in BEING **** AT STUFF

When races are finished perhaps the three dialogs for prize money, spec points and kit could be combined to one? If I'm maxed out on cash, already at level 40 and couldn't give a toss about yet another free helmet then I can just make one pointless click rather than three :-)

Even if it means speeding the fades up by half a second it'll make the menu better to navigate. And why does it have to load so much - the PS3 has half a gig of RAM not half a MEG! Why can't all the menu be kept in memory, instead of having to load each screen!?

The menus in GT4 was horrible! "Hundreds" of icons in GT World and very poorly organized! GT3 has the best menus in my opinion, or previous games. GT5 is better than GT4, but could be a bit faster and smarter made! GT3 did actually don't have loading when entering GT Auto, Tuning, Car Dealerships and such! I've tried it recently and I was positively suprised by how the menus was compared to GT5!

I want a menu interface like GT5 Prologue or GT4, the new one is ugly in my honest opinion

The menu design in GT Life seems as if a child designed it - I would love for the GT5-PD crew to tell us why they like it :-)
Not a top priority though....create new tracks first, fix endurance saving, get new premium cars in there and never shy away from an AI improvement.

Hopefully, we will get a better UI in 2.0

I think it would be cool if they just had a globe for the track ui.
Pick a continent. Zoom in on that continent. Pick the track you want by either moving over it or having a list on the side you can go down.ex.
select europe
select sarthe from a list on the sideI could make a faux picture I guess.

They really need to clean up the track menu, I think it's really messy. They should turn to the premium car dealership and the track menu in Shift 2 for inspiration.

The menus are a real pain indeed. But my other concern is the lack of visual performance. They are just ugly. No animations (remember GT3's menus!), no special transition effects between menus (is it 2011 or what?!)...
For instance why couldn't they use the garage or pit they have already modelised to animate your car when you tune it or, change wheels or paint it? And of course all these bells and whistles could be skippable so you can move quickly. But for those who like to lay back in their couch and enjoy some good visual stuff, I think that some eye candies wouldn't be too much to ask. Yeah these menus don't look like it took FIVE years to develop the game. -

Also, when u want to pick a pretty powerful car in Arcade-Mode or Dual-Screen, you always have to scroll ALL the way down to the end. In GT4 you could choose by brand. It's a big dissapointment that this is not implemented in GT5. (im out of votes, so i can only give it one... :P)

This is the biggest disappointment for me with gt5. Yes loading times have always been slow but coupled with poor menus and navigation and silly confirmation and acknowledgment screens when you don't want them and then none when you do is unacceptable in this user friendly day and age. This should be the first thing to get right in a game.

I love racing, I got a very nice setup (playseat/5.1 sound/52inch/great wheel) and I never find the will to get on to play GT5 just because I'm discourage by the slow interface/UI. Building a car for seasonal events takes me over 15-20mins just because I have to sit trough tons endless loading screen.
I request a "Simply UI" option that makes the UI almost text only or something, I don't care how fancy it is, I just want to save time.

The whole menu and navigation system in GT5 is a mess. Not to mention cheesy. I won't even bother to mention the online multiplayer features that look like something out of a 90's game.
I love the game though.

Ability to change Oil to any Car by car options menu (Triangle) even ONLINE.
Also ability to wash car (if they let our cars keep the dirt after races.) -

GT5 has made its way into my heart. Into my top 5 beloved games of all time. But I haven't spoke to anyone that was happy with the menu. Why is the garage one of the smallest buttons in the menu? I'm in and out of there more then any other thing. I'm sorry... really. But the whole layout is not good at all. It's ugly and out of order. The pics got old on day two. But that's alright because I didn't like um on day one. It's like a bumper sticker on a Pebble Beach "best in show". Why not take that Dynamic background, you know the one with the white(blank) city then put everything in a folder that opens when you scroll over it. In the folder is two sections of lists. List one in this order. Garage, Tuning Shop/Car auto(in the same), Dealership, Used dealership, Online dealership, Car delivery. List two. A-spec, B-spec, seasonal events, practice, ect. Seriously please help us tell PD to revisit the menu system. It does not fit in a near perfect game.

This is bloody annoying I'll agree... Especially the very first one. You've just loaded for the thousandth time, I KNOW what a flashing HDD light means, and if I didn't you've told me a thousand bloody times!!! (this is where someone tells me it can be turned off isn't it?)
